One of the keys to sustaining customer commitments and long term business success is planning for supply chain interruptions. Interruptions can be caused by labor issues, supplier financial crisis, weather, natural disasters, product quality, business system failures or global financial crisis. In failing to plan, you plan to fail. This presentation will provide the framework for planning and mitigating supply chain risk. We will discuss the preventative actions Nissan took to reduce the supply chain business impact when faced with challenges and how it affected their ability to recover from a 9.0 magnitude earthquake.
A two-time President of the Phoenix APICS Chapter and member of the district student competition committee, Robert Lundeen has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing, operations, management and consulting. He is APICS certified and serves as an instructor for the APICS Phoenix Chapter. His experience includes working at Honeywell International in Global ISC and Operations. He has led factory location transitions and supplier recovery projects. In addition, he was a member of Honeywell's Six-Sigma program as a Lean Expert and Black Belt. Currently he is a quality and program manager for a small aerospace company. He also provides consulting services to small and medium sized businesses in the Phoenix area.
